Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication
These campuses epitomize the Symbiosis motto, ‘Promoting International Understanding through Quality Education’ and are a beehive of international students from all across the globe, being privy to Indian culture and hospitality. Keeping its excellent track record in mind, in 2002, the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India conferred the ‘Deemed to be University’ status on Symbiosis.
Inspired by the ideals of ‘Vishwa Bharati’ of Gurudev Tagore and ‘Antar Bharati’ of Sane Guruji and with a deep desire to help foreign students, an idea of ‘Symbiosis’ was conceived by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar in the year 1971, who was the then Head of Department of Biology at Fergusson College, Pune. He started ‘Symbiosis International Cultural Centre’ and conducted various activities for Indian and foreign students. ‘Symbiosis’ provided them opportunities to study together, work together, perform together and also enjoy their free time exchanging information about the cultures, values, traditions, festivals, ideas etc. of their respective countries. Over the years he observed that education is the best medium to bring together Indian and foreign students. He established institutes based on need of the society.
The motto of Symbiosis is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ . Indeed, the motto is aptly justified in Symbiosis’ functioning pattern as it proves to be a ground that nurtures and cares for all students immaterial of their backgrounds.
In recognition of its academic excellence, the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, has conferred on Symbiosis the ‘Deemed University’ status, in 2002.
Today, Symbiosis has campuses at Pune, Nashik and Kolhapur in Maharashtra and campuses outside Maharashtra at NOIDA, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Courses Offered at SIMC Pune

Eligibility of SIMC Pune
Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).Applicants expecting their final year results can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to their proof of graduation with 50% marks or equivalent grade.
Admission Procedure of SIMC Pune
Application to SIMC’s MBA(Communication Management) Programme is a two-step process.
Step 1: Apply for SNAP 2023
- Visit www.snaptest.org for application form and all information related to SNAP 2023.
- Register for SNAP 2023 and pay the SNAP Test registration fee of INR 2250 per test (government taxes would be additional as and when applicable).
- Upon payment, a SNAP ID and password is generated which will be essential to fill up online form for SIMC Pune’s MBA(CM) Programme.
- Appearing for SNAP 2023 exam is compulsory for seeking admission to SIMC’s MBA(CM) Programme.
Step 2: Programme Registration for MBA(CM)
- Only those candidates who have registered and paid for ‘SNAP 2023’ will be eligible to apply for MBA(CM) program.
- After completing the payment for the SNAP 2023, you will find the tab for SIMC-MBA(CM) registration.
Step 3: Post clearing the SNAP entrance, the 2nd Phase involves appearing for GE-PI
Here is what all you need to know about this process
- Two components are involved in the process. Group Exercise and Personal Interaction.
- Group Exercise will include activities to asses aspirants in areas like Innovation and creativity in problem solving ,Team skills, Time Management etc.
- The Personal Interaction round will be to assess candidates on parameters such as interpersonal skills, communication skills academic proficiency etc.
