SSBF offers a full-time MBA in Banking and Finance for a duration of two years.

Chancellors Message SSBF Pune

Prof. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar is the Founder and President, Symbiosis; and Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University). A renowned academic and educationalist, he has received civilian honor many times by the Government of India. He was also awarded Punyabhushan in 2009. The complete list of accolades, far too long for these pages, includes Maharashtra Gaurav Award and the FIE Foundation Award.

He was born on 31 July 1935, in Gadhinglaj, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. He won a master’s degree in botany with honors and a doctorate in microbiology. He was the Head of the Department of Botany at the Fergusson College in Pune for over twenty years. He has authored a number of books and research papers, all of which are regarded as landmark publications in botany and other sciences. He also served on the Executive Council Senate and the Academic Council of the University of Pune for several years.

The Symbiosis international university gave us an opportunity to be a part of the student exchange program. It was an interactive program for a span of 15 days wherein 14 German students along with Professor Seebens from the Nuremberg tech university visited the Symbiosis university, lavale campus from 13th Feb to 21st Feb. Being a part of such initiative inculcates a sense of cultural diversity in each one of us. Knowing students from different backgrounds, their lifestyle, traditions helped us to grow more and share a bit of our life with them. We had a 15-day scheduled program wherein everyday was dedicated to specific locations preferably the places where they could know our way of living and know what India is all about. Breaking all barriers and preconceived notions that they had in mind about India, we helped them know the country is way beyond what they think it is perceived as. The students were a mixed lot wherein everybody was studying different subjects and specializing either in engineering or business or finance.We were seven of them who were assigned a buddy to the German students. We were responsible for engaging them and making this program as interactive as possible. The first day mainly involved a campus tour and a formal introduction session with the students, the faculty in charge, and the buddies

The Bloomberg and Capital Line terminals provide access to the world’s most sophisticated news, data, and analytics platform on an online and real time basis. Access to this terminal enhances the quality of education in all finance-related courses. Students would experience a holistic approach to learning the course from both theoretical and a practical standpoints. Faculty could develop case studies and simulate financial markets using Bloomberg’s communication system, trade messaging, and OTC trading tools. Bloomberg’s people databases as well as job postings could be leveraged to reach potential associates and recruiters and to build the Institute’s brand.

The program offered at Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance includes courses such as Securities and Commodities, Derivatives, Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Mergers & Acquisitions. These courses require a practical understanding of the financial markets in addition to the theoretical background. The department has made available a Bloomberg terminal to facilitate the teaching-learning process in these courses.

MBA at SSBF Pune Eligibility Criteria

Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).

A candidate who has completed a qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programme of SIU.

The final selection of student for admission of the MBA (Banking and Finance) programme will be based on the following criteria:

SNAP score will be scaled down to 50 marks

Admission Process at SSBF

Admission for the new batch of MBA- Banking and Finance beginning from next Academic Year 2023-24 For Indian Student are required to register and appear for SNAP Test, which would be held on December 10, 2022 (Saturday), December 18, 2022 (Sunday), December 23, 2022 (Friday). No candidate is entitled to seek the admission to MBA-Banking and Finance of SSBF without a valid SNAP Score. Validity of SNAP Score is for one year only.

Step 1 : Register online for SNAP by paying INR 1950 and appear for the test.

Step 2 : Simultaneously, register online to SSBF by paying additional INR 1000

Step 3 : Appear for SNAP Test on the scheduled date and time.
